NEW POLICIES FOR OPEN ARMS MASSAGE LLC
New policies shall remain indefinitely (last updated 5/20/2020)
~Thank you for doing your part to help keep everyone safe and healthy!~
New Booking Policy: Due to COVID-19, the number of daily appointments will be limited to four clients per day. Ample time between clients will be needed for extra sanitation protocols and to avoid an overlap of clients inside the office. Please stick to your appointment time as your arrival time. Walk-ins and same-day appointments will not be accepted. When booking online, simply choose between the basic 60 minute massage or a 90 minute massage (recommended). Each massage will be customized for your specific needs and goals, but might not include extras such as aromatherapy or face massage.
New Client Intake Form: The new client intake forms will be emailed to you and need to be filled out online PRIOR to your appointment. Four new questions have been added to the intake form:
1)Have you had a fever in the last 24 hours of 100°F or above?
2)Do you now, or have you recently had, any respiratory or flu symptoms, sore throat, or shortness of breath?
3)Do you now, or have you recently had, any chills, new loss of taste or smell, or new rashes/lesions?
4)Have you been in contact with anyone in the last 14 days who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or has coronavirus-type symptoms?
-If you respond "YES" to any of these four questions then you will need to wait a minimum of 14 days to book an appointment or reschedule for a later date. Thank you!
New Liability Waiver Consent for Treatment: The last page of the intake form includes a waiver to sign. The waiver now includes the following: I understand that, because massage therapy work involves maintained touch and close physical proximity over an extended period of time, there may be an elevated risk of disease transmission, including COVID-19. By signing this form, I acknowledge that I am aware of the risks involved from receiving treatment at this time, I voluntarily agree to assume those risks, and I release and hold harmless the practitioner/business from any claims related thereto. I give my consent to receive treatment from this practitioner.
Social Distancing and Face Masks: Both the client and therapist are required to wear a face mask. Please arrive to your appointment wearing one. Let the therapist know PRIOR to your appointment if a face mask needs to be provided to you for your session. Proper measures have been taken to avoid an overlap of clients in the office, but please practice social distancing of six feet between people when possible and in the rare occasion of other clients in the waiting area. Please keep conversation to a minimum - especially in the treatment room. Handshakes/hugs discouraged at this time.
Day of Appointment: Temperature will be taken with a no touch infrared forehead thermometer before the massage begins. Anyone with a temperature of 100°F or above will need to postpone their appointment 14+ days. Massage/bodywork is not appropriate care for infectious or contagious illness. Please cancel your appointment as soon as you are aware of an infectious or contagious condition. Therapist will also take own temperature before each work day begins and take proper precautions to ensure they are not presenting with any coronavirus symptoms.
Cancellation: Amid the ongoing uncertainty of COVID-19, the cancellation policy has been modified to offer greater flexibility to all clients. Hopefully this will help alleviate any stress or hesitation you may have about an upcoming appointment. It is completely acceptable to reschedule for ANY reason, but NECESSARY if you are not feeling well. There will be no penalties for cancellations at this time, but please notify your massage therapist as soon as possible to make new arrangements. Thank you!
Payment: There will be no cash handling at this time. Please pre-pay for your massage when booking. Otherwise, an invoice will be emailed to you after your appointment that will allow you to pay with a check or debit/credit card. If you prefer to pay with cash on the day of your appointment, please have the correct dollar amount in a sealed envelope. There will be a designated area to place envelopes/gift certificates/tips.
Post-session Check-in: An email will be sent to the client 2-3 days after the massage to ask typical follow-up questions, but also to check in about overall health. The client and therapist are to notify one another if either start showing any apparent COVID-19 symptoms
Sanitation: While many of these sanitation routines have already been in place, there will be more stringent protocols also implemented. EPA-approved disinfectants will be used on all surfaces, doorknobs, chairs, lotion bottles, light switches, etc., that a client or therapist might have touched. Massage table and face rest will be disinfected between each client along with fresh linens for each client. Treatment room floor and restroom facilities will also be sanitized between clients. The therapist will wear scrubs/apron/gloves whenever feasible which will also be changed between clients. There will be lidded foot pedal operated laundry and trash receptacles. Therapist will wash hands thoroughly, up to the elbows, using WHO guidelines before and after each appointment. Clients are encouraged to wash their hands with soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds (or at least use hand sanitizer) upon arrival and also before leaving the office. CDC/WHO hand washing posters will be placed by the sinks along with no touch soap and paper towel dispensers. Disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer will be available by the front door of the office and in the treatment room.
No New Clients: There will be no new clients taken at this time except for those with gift certificates
Gift Certificates and Package Deals: Gift certificates and package deals will not be sold at this time. (All gift certificates and package deals purchased prior to 5/19/2020 are still valid!!!)
